Yami Yam is a concept cafe inspired by the provocative spirit of the Superflat movement. Visually striking and conceptually bold, it addresses San Francisco’s political and societal tensions through layered aesthetics and playful rebellion. Designed for tourists, socially aware youth, artists, and Gen-Z foodies, Yami Yam offers more than a meal. It is a hyper-stylized, Instagrammable experience with a pop-infused, chaotic voice that challenges norms and sparks curiosity.

This branding project focuses on developing a clear and contemporary visual identity that reflects Maitri’s mission of compassion and support. The identity is designed to resonate with the local LGBTQ+ community, visitors, individuals in recovery, and potential funders, with a brand voice that is empathetic, trustworthy, and attentive.
